The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Calabarzon is encouraging the private sector and organizations to support the Regional Greening Program by including tree planting activities in their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). 

“Kayo po ang aming katuwang sa pagpapanumbalik ng mayabong at sustenableng kalikasan. Nawa sa paglaon, higit sa compliance ay maging advocacy natin ito at way of life,” DENR CALABARZON Regional Executive Director said. 

The DENR CALABARZON said more than 500,000 seedlings are open for distribution to interested groups and organizations who will organize tree planting activities this rainy season.

DENR CALABARZON Regional National Greening Program Coordinator Herminigildo Jocson assured interested private companies and organizations that the Regional Nurseries have more than enough seedlings to supply their tree planting activities. 

“Seedlings in the nursery start to overgrow because only few are requesting. Aside from seeds from our Seed Production Areas, we are also receiving replacement seedlings from our permittees and now we have indigenous, native, fruit-bearing and other various species available for request”, Jocson said. 

Interested parties may send a request letter indicating their number of seedlings, species requested, and specific location where the trees will be planted. — PB
